This series of works is inspired by the shapes and colours of fungi and mycelium and is made of recyclable plastic. The bright colours are meant to reflect the colourful world that should be. We should reach a consensus and understanding with these creatures that sustain us, and ultimately work with them to protect our new world
The world is changing rapidly, not for better or worse, but for survival. Climate change is one of the biggest threats facing the world today and the future of our planet. My project will discuss how mushrooms can—essentially—save the world. Bacteria themselves are controversial; they can kill us or they can save us. Eating poisonous mushrooms is known to cause hallucinations or death, but fungi can be used in a variety of ways, from cleaning up oil spills to assisting with chemotherapy and, more controversially, treating mental illness. It can be used as an ingredient in medicines. The amazing world of fungi and their power to heal, sustain and regenerate life on Earth.
